Festival dei Laghi (the Festival of the Lakes) is the biggest Italian event dedicated to Italian and European lakes.
In May, the historical centre of Iseo offers itself as a showcase for the enhancement of the lake environment, through the exploration and diffusion of its peculiar features. Small and wide European lakes have the opportunity to promote themselves and make their typical products known to the public.
The Festival dei Laghi consists of several stages:
– the trade-show Bontàlago, which highlights the typical products of each participating lake, with exhibitions, tastings and courses;
– the art exhibitions;
– the concerts, the thematic conferences, the conversations with writers and artists;
– entertainment and sports activities, involving local promoters and associations.
The thousands of visitors who turn out to Iseo every year, on the occasion of the festival, have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the romantic atmosphere of the enchanting scenery of the lake, tasting typical local specialities, visiting the monuments that the town hosts: Piazza Garibaldi, the Oldofredi Castle, the Arsenal Palace, the Parish Church and the Market Church, the network of charming streets that depart from the square, Via del Campo, the Pusterla and much more.
